Police identify resident killed in Junction City house fire

“I found one of the relatives of the victim part way in the living room of the house with a garden hose trying to put the fire out,” Morris said. “I had to physically put him out of the house, so he would not become a victim of the fire as well.”

JUNCTION CITY, Ore. – Junction City police have identified the person killed in a house fire on Monday. 

Eri Rolland Ingalls, 82, was found dead after a fire at 236 E 4th Ave.

Crews responded at about 2:45 p.m. after a report of a single-family structure that was heavily involved in fire with possible entrapment of one occupant.

The cause remains undetermined but appears accidental. Damage has been estimated at $200,000. The Oregon State Fire Marshall’s office is handling the investigation.

Junction City Police Chief Bob Morris said he stepped in once he got on scene.
