Police identify 17-year-old killed on I-105

The girl who died has been identified.

EUGENE, Ore. -- The person who was struck and killed on Interstate 105 last week was identified as Jayla Hawkins, 17, from Reedsport.

At about 8:45 p.m., Feb. 4, Eugene police received multiple 911 calls about a person lying in the roadway on eastbound I-105 near the Coburg Road overpass. Police and fire officials responded and found a person who had been struck and killed.

Police are looking for additional witnesses to the crash and are asking people with information about what happened to contact Officer Matt Saylo at 541-682-5154, extension 1211.
