Police identify man killed in crash

EUGENE, Ore. - Police have released the identity of a man killed in a car crash on Bailey Hill Road last weekend. Officers have also contacted a second person in the vehicle who ran from the scene.

EUGENE, Ore. - Eugene police identified the victim in a weekend car crash as Mack Carothers.

Carothers, 24, was killed when the truck he was in lost control and crashed into a tree at Bailey Hill and Four Oaks Grange roads around 2:30 a.m. on Dec. 30.

Investigators haven't said whether Carothers was driving. A witness reported someone else running from the scene, and officers have located and questioned that person. They said nobody has been arrested yet.
