Phishing email leads to data breach at Oregon Department of Human Services

SALEM, Ore. -- The Oregon Department of Human Services has uncovered a data breach, officials said Friday.

A phishing email targeted a staff member's email, they said. Their credentials were exposed to an outside entity.

At this time, it's not known whose information was compromised or what information was involved.

The department will provide identity theft protection services to potentially impacted employees and clients.

Officials are reviewing the incident.
