Police searching for vehicle in fatal hit-and-run

EUGENE, Ore. – A crash that killed a pedestrian in Eugene was a hit-and-run, police said Friday.

The crash happened in the 400 block of Bertelsen Road sometime between Thursday night and Friday morning. Specifically between the hours before midnight and 8:30 a.m. the next day.

Police are still looking for the vehicle involved in the crash. They say it could be a mid-1990s Ford truck with headlight damage on the passenger side.

Officers responded to the Bertelsen area at about 8:30 a.m. Friday and closed the road while they investigated the crash. The road reopened to traffic Friday afternoon.
