Pedestrian hit by car on I-105 hospitalized with serious injuries

The 54-year-old man's injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

EUGENE, Ore. -- The pedestrian struck by a car Wednesday morning on westbound I-105 near the Coburg Road exit is in the hospital with serious injuries, Eugene police said.

The 54-year-old man's injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

Police responded to the crash at about 6 a.m. in the lane closest to the median. They said they received information that the pedestrian was seen running across traffic when he was hit by a 2012 Honda Civic.

The driver of the vehicle cooperated with police, and the investigation is ongoing.
