Oregon sees highest daily case count; new COVID-19 death in Lane County

The Oregon Health Authority said the total since the start of the pandemic is 32,314 cases.

PORTLAND, Ore. – Oregon saw its new highest daily COVID-19 case count on Friday, with 457 new confirmed and presumptive cases.

The Oregon Health Authority said the total since the start of the pandemic is 32,314 cases.

The new cases include: Benton (11), Clackamas (33), Clatsop (73), Columbia (7), Coos (3), Deschutes (17), Jackson (14), Jefferson (4), Josephine (2), Klamath (1), Lake (3), Lane (50), Lincoln (2), Linn (12), Malheur (20), Marion (58), Morrow (4), Multnomah (62), Polk (8), Tillamook (1), Umatilla (9), Union (4), Wasco (3), Washington (51), and Yamhill (5).

A Lane County man is among three deaths reported on Friday. OHA said he was 76 years old and died on Sept. 1. The other two deaths were an 85-year-old Multnomah County man and 76-year-old Jackson County man.

OHA said a workplace outbreak at Pacific Seafood in Clatsop County has grown to 79 cases, including employees and people they have had contact with.
