SALEM, Ore. – The Oregon Department of Revenue has extended the tax filing and payment deadlines following a similar declaration from the Internal Revenue Service.
The change is at the direction of Gov. Kate Brown in reaction to the federal and statewide emergency regarding novel coronavirus.
The new deadline for the 2019 tax year is July 15, the same as the new federal income tax filing deadline.
Below are additional details from the department of revenue:
- Estimated tax payments for tax year 2020 are not extended.
- The tax year 2019 six-month extension to file, if requested, continues to extend only the filing deadline until October 15, 2020.
- Taxpayers do not need to file any additional forms or call us to qualify for this automatic Oregon tax filing and payment extension.
