SALEM, Ore. -- Oregon's total nonfarm payroll employment rose by 4,200 jobs in November.
The job gains were largest in transportation, warehousing, utilities, professional and businesses services, manufacturing, health care and social assistance. Monthly losses were in construction, government and retail trade.
The state has recovered 46% of the jobs cut in March and April and the unemployment rate dropped to 6% in November. This change put Oregon's rate below the U.S. unemployment rate which dropped to 6.7%.
