EUGENE, Ore. — A vehicle vs. pedestrian crash in Eugene on Friday night left one person dead.
Eugene police said the crash happened on River Road and Maynard Avenue around 7:21 p.m. They said the pedestrian, a 61-year-old man, was crossing River Road near the DariMart at E. Maynard Avenue when he was hit in a northbound lane.
Officials told KEZI 9 News the driver, a 41-year-old man, stopped and called 911. They said there was no indication of driver impairment only inclement weather and dark conditions.
Eugene police said the pedestrian was wearing non-contrasting clothing.
EPD has not released the identities of the two men involved in that crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
