Officials: Possible threat resolved at Dorena School

Officials say the threat has been resolved, and it's safe for students to be at school.

DORENA, Ore. -- A possible student threat has been resolved at Dorena School, officials say.

Cottage Grove police said they received a report on Sunday that a student threatened to shoot up the school. Police investigated and determined the statements were old and not a current threat. It was the first time they'd heard about the threat and the first investigation into it.

Police said the student who made the threat was a teenager. No arrests have been made. The school district and student are cooperating.

School officials said they are are making parents aware of the situation. They said it's safe for students to be at school, and the safety of students and staff is their top priority.
