OAKLAND, Ore. -- An Oakland man has been arrested for manslaughter in the death of his 81-year-old stepfather.
Anthony Catrell Wadley-Wright, 59, of Oakland, turned himself in to Sutherlin Police on Saturday. He said he had assaulted his stepfather, Albert Bertrand Carrington, 81, at the family home in the 300 block of Brad Road in Oakland.
The assault occurred sometime during the previous night and had not been reported.
EMS and law enforcement responded to the residence on Brad Road and found Carrington, who was unconscious and badly injured.
Carrington was transported by air ambulance to Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend. He died late Sunday afternoon.
Wadley-Wright has been charged with first degree manslaughter.
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office Investigations Division is continuing the investigation.
