CORVALLIS, Ore. -- Researchers at Oregon State University are creating an eco-friendly way to make adhesive for things that are used every day like Band-Aids, sticky notes and postage stamps.

The adhesive is the only vegetable oil based and biodegradable adhesive in the world.

It can be cured under ultraviolet light in one second, making the cost of producing tapes and labels competitive with existing production processes.

Oregon State University has filed for a patent for the adhesive formulations and curing process.
