OHA reports four new coronavirus-related deaths

There are more than 1,000 cases in the state.

SALEM, Ore. – Four more people have died as novel coronavirus continues to spread across the state, bringing the death toll to 33.

Oregon Health Authority also announced 49 new cases on Tuesday, bringing the state total of positive cases to 1,181.

The new cases include seven in Clackamas, one in Clatsop, four in Deschutes, one in Klamath, one in Lane, one in Linn, six in Marion, 15 in Multnomah, two in Polk, and 11 in Washington.

Three of the deaths are in Marion County and one is in Washington County.

The Marion County cases include an 83-year-old woman, a 98-year-old woman and a 71-year-old woman. The first two died April 5 and the other died April 2. The 83-year-old was at Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center and the other two died at home. OHA said they all had underlying medical conditions.

The Washington County death was a 91-year-old woman who died April 6 at St. Vincent Medical Center. She too had underlying health conditions, OHA said.
