OHA investigating outbreak; 71 new cases in state

In Multnomah County, there were 41 new cases.

SALEM, Ore. – Oregon Health Authority and local authorities are investigating an outbreak of coronavirus.

On Wednesday, 71 new confirmed and presumptive coronavirus cases were reported.

Officials said the increase in cases is tied to an outbreak at specific locations of a business that operates in the metro area and in the Willamette Valley.

At this time, there is no indication that surrounding communities are at significant risk.

The investigation is ongoing, and more positive test results are expected.

Further details, including location information, will be released in the coming days, OHA said.

The state total is now 4,038.

The new cases include four in Clackamas, one in Hood River, five in Jackson, two in Lake, two in Lincoln, six in Marion, 41 in Multnomah, two in Polk, two in Wasco, five in Washington, and one in Yamhill.

No new deaths were added, keeping the toll at 148.
