SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – NortonLifeLock Inc., formerly known as Symantec Corporation, has notified 46 employees that their jobs will be permanently eliminated on Jan. 17 at the company’s Springfield location.

The notice was sent Tuesday to Springfield Mayor Christine Lundberg, the state of Oregon, and the Lane County Board of Commissioners. The notice said the company appreciates any assistance the state can give to the employees who will be losing their jobs.

The notice also said none of the affected employees are represented by a union.

The company has been reducing its Springfield presence for years. Its building on International Way in Springfield was purchased by Pacific Source in 2018.

It is not known how many employees will remain in Springfield after these layoffs. The corporation is based in Tempe, Arizona.
