EUGENE, Ore. – The Board of Trustees at the University of Oregon will meet Friday to decide whether the university will approve an $88 million sponsorship with Nike.

The multi-sport apparel contract with the Ducks is set to expire in June, according to the Oregonian.

As part of the sponsorship deal, Nike is extending the university an offer doubling the amount of their current contract.

The $88 million would be distributed over the period of 11 years. The swoosh brand would pay $2.5 million in cash and $6 to $5 million in gear each year.

If UO agrees to the contract, the Ducks will also get a $3 million signing bonus.

The Board of Trustees will discuss the sponsorship Thursday afternoon and will vote on it on Friday.
