SALEM, Ore.-- The Department of Public Safety Standards and Training launched a new public database to track disciplinary action taken on Oregon law enforcement personnel.

On Thursday the DPSST released the new database that was mandated by recently passed House Bill 4207. The database will show the full name, agency, and type of disciplinary action taken on an officer. The bill also requires the DPSST to publish any misconduct within 10 days. Law enforcement agencies across the state are also required to hold onto the personal records of officers that leave their agency for 10 years.

House Bill 4207 also sets out guidelines that bars any officer for being rehired by a law enforcement agency if they were fired for obtaining false confessions, making false arrests, creating or using falsified evidence, depriving someone of their legal rights, and using their position for personal gain.
