EUGENE, Ore. -- Gov. Kate Brown sent a letter to Lane County leaders late Thursday outlining the process for entering phase two of reopening.

Counties can apply for the next step after two weeks in phase one and can begin to enter phase two after three weeks upon approval from the governor.

The additional guidelines include efficient and successful contact tracing, along with no large increases in current cases.

On the Governor's website, loose guidelines say up to 100 people would be allowed to gather under phase 2.

"(Phase two would) further expand gathering sizes, allow some office work and to begin to allow some limited visitation to our congregate care facilities," said county commissioner Heather Buch. "The state has made it clear that it will be evaluating the data it receives from phase one in order to evaluate whether we can go into phase two.
