EUGENE, Ore. -- A fire tore through a mobile home in west Eugene and sent two people to the hospital.

The fire broke out around 1:00 p.m. on Clear Lake Road near the airport.

Officials said a woman living in the home and a neighbor who came to help her out were taken to the hospital.

The extent of their injuries is unknown.

Lane Fire Authority Chief Terry Ney said the State Fire Marshall's office worked to find the cause of the fire.

"Our investigators down in Chico at the big fire down there so we had to call in the State Fire Marshall's office," Chief Ney said. "Also, given the fact that we have a civilian injury, that's also another reason we wanted to bring in some expertise on investigating it."

Chief Ney said the wind made the flames difficult to put out.

It's unclear where in the home the fire started.
