Missing Florence man found dead

Patrick Stapp vanished about a month ago after a rollover crash in Florence in which he apparently left the scene.

FLORENCE, Ore. -- After disappearing nearly a month ago, 58-year-old Patrick Stapp of Florence has been found dead, according to the Lane County Sheriff's Office.

Stapp vanished about a month ago after a rollover crash near Florence in which he apparently left the scene.

Deputies said his body was found in Mercer Lake near Florence Sunday morning.

The sheriff's office said there is no indication of foul play, but they are investigating his death.

Earlier this month, KEZI spoke with Jon Stapp, Patrick's son, after his father had been missing for a week.

Jon posted a message to Facebook Sunday night stating: "They found my dad today...he is gone...they found his body in the lake. RIP Pat Stapp 8-4-60 to 11-30-18. We love and miss you dad."
