Masks still required at LTD bus stops

The LTD requirement includes outdoor spaces, even after the state lifted the outdoor mask mandate. Here's why.

EUGENE, Ore. – While masks are no longer required in large outdoor gatherings in Oregon, there are still a few places you’ll need to wear one.

The Lane Transit District is continuing to require people to wear face masks while on their property, including outdoor areas like their bus stops. Public transit falls under federal rules and there is still a mask rule under federal guidelines

“The FDA has a requirement that everyone on the transit property and on our buses has to mask up. And we really should know more about that guidance in January if that will change or not,” said LTD spokesman Pat Walsh.

The Oregon Health Authority announced the change to the outdoor mask mandate on Tuesday.
