Eugene, OR-- It's finally here. Week one of college football has arrived in Eugene, as the Oregon Ducks get ready to take on the Auburn Tigers. This will be the Ducks second ever appearance against the Tigers. The first, being the heart-breaking loss in the BCS Championship game in 2011.

The eight year season opening streak of playing at Autzen ends this year for the Ducks as they get ready to travel to Arlington, Texas. The last time Oregon played away from home on opening day was back in 2011 when the Ducks lost to LSU at AT&T Stadium, the same stadium that they will be playing in this year.

With the past put aside, second-year head coach Mario Cristobal looks towards this season.

"We've had a great camp," said Cristobal. "We feel like we are progressing and we're getting better."

One of the key story lines of this game will be how the Ducks handle Auburn's true freshman quarterback Bo Nix, who beat out redshirt freshman Joey Gatewood last week. With no film on the new starting quarterback and the possibility of Gatewood getting playing time as well, Oregon will have to play on the fly.

"You've got to prepare for a lot of things, he's a very talented football player," Cristobal explained. "Because it's game one and there isn't any film, you have to be ready to make your adjustments."

But with returning 3,000 yard passer Justin Herbert, 1,000 yard rusher CJ Verdell and a redefined defense, Oregon will try to turn their seven consecutive season opener winning streak into eight.

A win over Auburn would be their first win over a ranked opponent during a season opener since their 2001 win over Wisconsin.

Game day for the Ducks kicks off at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
