ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A Roseburg man was arrested Monday in connection with a string of burglaries in Douglas County, the sheriff’s office said.

Donovan Spontini, 27, was caught driving a stolen vehicle after a theft at Umpqua Aggregate Resources in Roseburg on Monday, deputies said.

The theft included two Dodge Ram pickups, a 30-foot trailer, an excavator, a track loader and several tools – a combined value of $235,167.

The business owner posted to Facebook about the theft and received a tip regarding the location of the property, and deputies followed up, heading to Cooper Creek Reservoir in Sutherlin, where most of the stolen property was recovered.

Meanwhile, deputies said an Oregon State Trooper located Spontini driving one of the stolen trucks. They said evidence of burglaries from K&R Drive-In and Douglas Forest Protective Association were found in the pickup.

Spontini faces charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, first-degree criminal trespass and criminal mischief, first-degree aggravated theft and first-degree forgery. He was also taken into custody on a felony arrest warrant.
