Man shot in Coos County is expected to survive

It happened the City of Powers.

COOS COUNTY, ORE.--The District Attorney's Office said a man was in the intensive care unit Sunday after being shot in the City of Powers. It happened around 5:30 Sunday morning.


The victim is 30-year-old Emelio Pina.

The City of Powers did not currently have a paid police officer, so other agencies responded. They didn't arrive on scene until about 30 minutes later.

Pina was shot in the neck/shoulder area. He is expected to survive.

Police have a suspected shooter, a man, but were not releasing his name as of Sunday night. No arrests have been made. 

The case is still under investigation.
