SUTHERLIN, Ore. – Officers responded to a disturbance Tuesday night, leading to a Riddle man’s arrest.
At about 10:45 p.m. police said they arrived to 324 Sunset and learned that several people were trying to get Anton Hubschman, 26, to leave the complex.
The man had reportedly been visiting friends when a fight broke out. Hubschman had allegedly been drinking alcohol.
Police said Hubschman hit a 19-year-old man across the face with a full bottle of whiskey.
Officers tried to contact the man in the parking lock, but he got inside his car and locked the doors. He then tried to drive away but ended up hitting a telephone pole, fence, another car, and nearly a police officer as well.
The window was smashed and a Taser was used, but the man eventually got away.
Hubschman’s white Chevrolet Impala was found several blocks away, and with the help of a police dog, the man was found nearby, police said.
Police said he resisted during the arrest. He was taken to the Douglas County Jail.
Hubschman faces charges of first-degree assault, attempted assault on a peace officer with a vehicle, unlawful use of a weapon, eluding, resisting, reckless driving and hit-and-run.
No one was seriously injured in the incident.
