Police respond to reports of injured man in Eugene

They found the man, who is in his 30s, down on the sidewalk but awake and breathing.

EUGENE, Ore. -- A man was hospitalized after an incident Wednesday morning in Eugene, police said. 

According to Eugene Police, officers said they received calls at 5:47 a.m at West 3rd Avenue and Washington Street. It initially appeared to be a stabbing, but police said they later learned no stabbing had occurred.

They found the man, who is in his 30s, down on the sidewalk but awake and breathing. 

He was taken to the hospital. No information about his current condition was provided.

Police say a suspect was seen leaving the scene.
