EUGENE, Ore. -- A man is hoping to find a hit-and-run driver who he said took off after a bike impact Friday.
Edward Frank said he was riding his bike along the sidewalk of Olive Street Friday when he collided head on into the passenger side of a car.
He said when he saw the car pull out of the Dutch Brothers parking lot, he kept peddling. Frank said the driver pulled was a woman. He said thought she would stop and give him the right of way.
He said she pulled over and told him she did not see him and then took off.
"I wouldn't do this to a dog. If you know somebody's hurt and you're involved in it you stop and acknowledge it,” he said. “I know there's as many bad drivers as there are bike riders.”
Frank said the woman was driving a grey car, but witnesses were not able to write down the full license plate number.
“There's one for one, I'm not saying anyone is better or worse it's just we need to watch out for each other,” he said.
Frank said he is grateful he only suffered minor injuries. He is asking drivers and bikers to be very alert, especially now that it gets dark much earlier.
