Man arrested for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars worth of property

38-year-old Matthew Clark is facing two counts of first-degree burglary, two counts of first-degree theft, six counts each of ID theft and fraudulent use of a credit card and one count of unauthorized entry motor vehicle.

EUGENE, Ore.-- Eugene police arrested 38-year-old Matthew Clark of Veneta for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars worth of property.

On July 19, police took a report of a burglarly at a home under construction in the 2100 block of Lakeview Drive. Police said there had also been other burglaries at construction sites in the area.

Police reportedly spotted Clark in his vehicle the next day and stopped him at his residence in the Veneta area.

Clark is facing two counts of first degree burglarly, two counts of first degree theft, six counts each of ID theft and fraudulent use of a credit card, and one count of unauthorized entry motor vehicle.

Additional charges are pending.

Officials said the stolen property was recovered and returned to the owners.
