EUGENE, Ore. -- A man is behind bars accused of stabbing another man outside a downtown Eugene bar just after midnight Thursday.
Eugene Police were called to the Jackalope Lounge on Willamette Street at 12:06 a.m.
Officers said two men who didn’t know each other were in an argument inside the bar. Eventually, the pair left the bar to take the fight outside, and that’s when the stabbing happened. Police arrested 32-year-old Cato Donohue-Tyrell. Officers said Donohue-Tyrell stabbed the other man six times during the fight. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said Donohue-Tyrell also had a woman with him. She was arrested for not cooperating with the investigation, but was later released. Police will continue the investigation and speak with witnesses from the bar.
Donohue-Tyrell is currently in the Lane County Jail facing two felony charges of first-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon.
