SUTHERLIN, Ore. – A Sutherlin man is accused of threatening an officer with a gun and chasing him on his bike.
Police said they pulled over a woman on Sept. 13 in Sutherlin and impounded her vehicle because she had no license or insurance.
When a tow truck was about to take the vehicle away, police said the woman’s husband, 40-year-old Scott Haury, told the officer he had a gun and demanded they give him the vehicle.
The officer was able to drive away but police said Haury followed him bike.
Police said they tried to arrest him, but he wouldn’t comply and rode away.
On Tuesday, police saw Haury at a Sutherlin business and drew their guns because they said they believed he may have weapons on him.
Police said he told them he had two guns in the car and tried to resist, but ultimately complied and ended up being taken into custody.
Haury was booked in the Douglas County Jail and is facing charges of disorderly conduct, escape, unlawful possession of a firearm and resisting arrest.
