EUGENE, Ore. -- Skateboards were reported stolen at gunpoint in downtown Eugene overnight, police say.

Police said they responded to 250 W. Broadway at about 12:35 a.m. Friday. The victims said the suspect left the scene in a compact sedan with a bicycle on the roof.

Officers found the car at Safeway at 18th Avenue and High Street a few minutes later.

Suspect Nathan Duffy, 30, was arrested during a high-risk stop at 24th Avenue and Portland Street. Police said he didn’t cooperate with commands to get on his knees and used a Taser to take him into custody safely.

Police said they recovered the skateboards and two realistic-looking replica handguns.

Duffy faces charges of first-degree robbery, driving under the influence of intoxicants, and possession of cocaine and mushrooms.
