LEBANON, Ore. -- A father has admitted to hurting his 3-month-old baby, who was taken to the hospital with broken bones, according to Linn County Sheriff Jim Yon.

The report came in just after 10 p.m. on Saturday. The injured baby was taken to Lebanon Community Hospital and was taken to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland.

Yon said the child’s injuries included fractures to the skull and ribs.

The investigation continued in the days following the report, and multiple people were interviewed, including father Gabriel Hess, 23, of Lebanon. Yon said he admitted to causing the injuries, and he was taken to the Linn County Jail. He was arraigned Wednesday in Linn County Circuit Court on charges of first-degree criminal mistreatment and third-degree assault.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 541-967-3950.
