LEBANON, Ore. – Lebanon City Manager Gary Marks has resigned following a Lebanon City Council meeting Thursday.

His resignation was approved by a unanimous vote of the city council. The city council took a vote during a meeting following an executive session at the Lebanon Senior Center.

"We're really sorry to see Gary go," said Mayor Paul Aziz. "He's done a lot of great things for our community, and he's well loved by the community. It's just a tough day."

The official purpose of the executive session was “to consider the dismissal or disciplining of a public officer, employee or staff member.” Executive sessions are closed to the public due to their confidential nature.

This follows Marks being put on administrative leave on Aug. 15.

Aziz said the city will begin the process of finding a new Lebanon city manager.
