EUGENE, Ore. -- Eugene’s annual leaf collection and delivery program is still underway.
The city will collect leaves through January to be reused for compost. Typically, the city collects between 14,000 and 18,000 cubic yards of leaves.
“All of those leaves go to either homeowners who want to compost, they go to several farms, community gardens throughout the community, so all of the leaves serve the residents and the community of Eugene,” said Damon Joyner with City of Eugene Public Works.
The city has been collecting leaves for compost since the 1960s.
