EUGENE, Ore -- The 4J School Board is seeking input on a potential bond measure for the November 2018 ballot.

The school board is considering a potential bond measure to replace and improve aging schools like North Eugene High School and pay for learning materials. District officials say a bond would save taxpayers money in the long run. Most of 4J's school buildings were constructed in the 1940s to 1960s, and some are even older.

In a recent community poll gauging voter support of the proposed bond measure, out of the 400 likely voters targeted, the majority think the schools are in fair or poor condition.

The next community forum is Wednesday, May 30 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the 4J Education Center located at 200 N. Monroe Street in Eugene.

There's also an online comment form. The deadline to submit the survey is May 30th at midnight. Click here for a link.

The 4J School Board will use the input it receives to make a final decision in June about placing a bond measure on the November ballot.
