VENETA, Ore. -- Crews with Lane Fire Authority held their annual "Stuff the Truck" event in front of Ray's Food Place in Veneta on Saturday to collect food and toys for local families in need.

This event is part of the Kiwanis annual food drive. They collected non-perishable food, toys and cash donations.

Lt. Tressa Miller said this year's event was very successful. Career and volunteer firefighters were also joined by the Eugene Lady Hawks Football Team to help collect the donated items.

Miller said if you missed the event this weekend, they're still accepting donations at their fire station, 88050 Territorial Highway.
