LANE COUNTY, Ore. -- Volunteers are needed for this year’s annual Lane County Point-in-Time Homeless Count.
The count provides information to understand homelessness and the trends in the community.
Human Services Supervisor Alexandria Dreher said volunteers will collect electronic surveys using the Survey 123 app and will canvass an assigned area for people experiencing unsheltered homelessness.
“Last year, we had over 300 volunteers, which enabled a new level of data collection for us,” Dreher said. “So far this year, we are severely short staffed and need additional volunteer support.”
This year, the count will take place across the county between 8:30 and 11:30 a.m. Jan. 31. Volunteers undergo a short training before the count.
