LANE COUNTY, Ore. – Lane County is seeking an on-site caretaker for Armitage Campground.
The caretaker will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the day use area and campground. This will involve park host management, accounting and reservations, general maintenance and landscaping, customer service and minor concessions.
The person selected will live in a home on-site, and the contract will be for a three-year period from November to October 2023.
“Being a caretaker is a great opportunity for people who love the outdoors, who enjoy working with a wide variety of people, and who appreciate providing an important public service,” said Lane County Parks Interim Supervising Analyst Michelle Hunt. “At Armitage, which is open year-round, it’s an especially important position because the park is so popular with locals and visitors alike.”
The campground is just north of Eugene city limits along Coburg Road. The 54-acre grounds include 32 RV spaces and eight tent sites, two group camp sites, a boat ramp, dog park, day use and picnic areas, as well as restroom, shower and laundry facilities.
Applications are due by 5 p.m. on Aug. 30.
