Lane County reports two new deaths

With 11 new cases, the county total is at 814.

EUGENE, Ore. – Lane County Public Health reported 11 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, as well as two new deaths.

The new cases bring the total to 814, including confirmed and presumptive cases.

Two people are in the hospital, and 53 are considered infectious.

More than 57,500 tests have been conducted.

The death toll for the county is now at 12.

The two new deaths include an 82-year-old man from the Eugene-Springfield area and a 68-year-old man from the Eugene-Springfield area.

LCPH said the 82-year-old died Wednesday morning due to coronavirus-related causes and had not been hospitalized before his death.

The 68-year-old died Aug. 30 from coronavirus-related causes. He had been hospitalized before his death but had returned to his home.

Lane County officials sent their condolences to these men’s friends and families.
