EUGENE, Ore. -- A free plastics roundup is coming up this spring, and Lane County is looking for some community collectors to help out.
The county will be collecting clean number two, four and five plastic tubs, jugs, bottles, lids and six-pack handles at the Glenwood Transfer Station in April.
They’re offering early access to businesses, churches, individuals and neighborhood groups who sign up as community collectors.
The county will give you signs, snacks, training materials and promotion materials to help you collect plastic from employees, neighbors and friends. Then, you can make an appointment to drop it off in March or April.
Everyone else can drop plastics off Sunday, April 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event was created last year for people looking for a place to recycle plastics after the disruption to international recycling markets.
