Lane County adds 40 coronavirus cases, 1 death

A 64-year-old woman from the Eugene-Springfield area died Oct. 14 due to complications related to COVID-19.

EUGENE, Ore. -- The total of confirmed and presumptive cases has reached 2,222 in Lane County, officials say.

A total of 40 new cases were added on Wednesday, as well as one more death. A 64-year-old woman from the Eugene-Springfield area died Oct. 14 due to complications related to COVID-19. Officials said she was not in the hospital before her death.

Lane County Public Health said the death toll is now at 27, and 10 people remain in the hospital. More than 200 people remain infectious, and more than 650 are under monitoring. Nearly 78,500 residents have been tested.
