LANE COUNTY, Ore. -- The Lane County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help finding a missing hunter.
Authorities said James Broom, 62, went missing Tuesday when he left to go hunting, possibly in the Scott Creek area off McKenzie Highway. They said he didn’t return home at midnight as expected and has not contacted his family.
As of Thursday morning, his vehicle has not been found. Crews have been looking in areas Broom was known to hunt.
Authorities hope to expand the search. If you have seen Broom or his truck, or have any information, contact the sheriff’s office at 541-682-4141.
He is described as white, 6 feet 2 inches and 315 pounds. He is bald and was wearing a camouflage shirt and pants.
He left in a black 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe with an Oregon license plate, 904 LHE.
The sheriff’s office said Broom is an experienced hunter but has medical issues.
