EUGENE, Ore. -- Lane Transit District (LTD) will require all employees and vendors to have their temperature taken before entering a district building or facility.
“Taking temperatures is one more way LTD is keeping its employees, vendors, and the public safe from the potential spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus,” said Aurora Jackson, LTD’s general manager. “Now more than ever, we all need to pay closer attention to our health and taking temperatures makes the decision an easy one.“
Any of LTD’s 339 employees or vendors with a temperature of 100 degrees or more will be sent home.
“Since early April, most of our administrative, marketing, planning, and finance teams have been required to work remotely until further notice,” said Jackson, who is currently working from her home. “But when they do come to the facilities, they are required to wear a mask, maintain social distancing parameters, and now show a temperature of less than 100 degrees.”
