EUGENE, Ore. – On Thursday Lane Transit District started requiring that all passengers wear a face mask.
The mask should cover the nose and mouth and LTD also said bus operators and essential staff will also be wearing face masks.

Bus driver Suzanne Rowllins said the changes make her feel more comfortable behind the wheel.
"I think it's a lot better that we are all taking precautions," Rowllins said. "Because we never know who has been exposed, been exposed to other people, so it's a just a general good safety."

LTD said people need to wear masks on their property as well when they ride the bus and continue following social distancing guidelines. They're encouraging riders to use homemade masks or even bandannas. That way health care workers still have the supplies they need.
They previously limited the number of passengers and started operating extra buses on routes where the number of passengers exceeded the new limit capacity.
