EUGENE, Ore. -- Lane Community College is delaying the start of spring term in response to the spread of novel coronavirus in Oregon.

The delay will push back the start of the term one week to April 6.

Officials said the term will end as scheduled on June 13. Instruction will be delivered remotely through May 8.

Finals week will be used for instruction and alternative plans will be made for administrating finals.

A financial aid disbursement plan will be developed to help reduce the financial impact on students.

No events will be held through May 8, and nonessential college travel is discontinued.
