SALEM, Ore. – A former gubernatorial candidate in Oregon has announced he’s leaving the Republican Party.
Knute Buehler, who faced Gov. Kate Brown in the 2018 election, said he’s leaving the party because of the Oregon GOP calling the riot at the Capitol a “false flag” event.
More than 6,000 Oregonians switched their registration to leave the Republican Party in January.
Buehler said he doesn’t know what the party stands for and said it’s almost become a cult of personality.
