K-9 Unleashed event happening Sunday

Attendees will see demonstrations from six different K-9 units.

ROSEBURG, OR. -- You can go see a demonstration of how police and search and rescue dogs do their jobs at the K-9 Unleashed event in Roseburg on Sunday.

The free event is happening at Legion Field in Roseburg.

K-9 units will be giving demonstrations showing the public how their dogs are trained, including pursuits, captures, and searches.

Dogs and their handlers from Roseburg Police, Douglas County Search and Rescue, and the Springfield Police Department will be out there.

“We’re going to have six different teams there, which is patrol and one drug dog. It’s going to be.. even agencies out of the area are going to come and show what their dogs are able to do. So, it’s a really great opportunity to see multiple great dogs and what we do,” said Officer Tyler Good with the Roseburg Police Department.

The event is Sunday from 2:00 to 3:30.

There will be t-shirts for sale to help support the K-9 units.
