Human remains found south of Bend

Officials confirmed the remains belong to an adult male and an autopsy is planned in the coming days.

BEND, Ore. – Deputies with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office received a report of human remains located on U.S. Forest Service land off China Hat Road south of Bend.

Deputies and detectives arrived on scene at 9:30 a.m. on Monday after a person walking their dog made the discovery and called 911.

Officials confirmed the remains belong to an adult male. An autopsy is planned in the coming days to determine the identity and cause of death.
