Firefighters respond to shop fire at private residence in Pleasant Hill

Fire crews arrived on scene just before 6 a.m. to reports of a structure fire.

PLEASANT HILL, Ore. -- Fire crews fought a shop fire at a private residence in Pleasant Hill Wednesday morning.

Crews were dispatched to the fire at 37375 Immigrant Road around 5:37 a.m. The first of the Pleasant Hill Goshen Fire crews arrived just before 6 a.m.

On arrival, crews found a large building with extensive smoke and heat damage inside. Most of the active fire had died down. 

Officials said the property's resident had found the fire and used a series of household fire extinguishers to put out as much of the fire as possible. 

Officials said the fire was under control within 15 minutes of crews arriving on scene. 

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is suspected to be electrical in nature. The investigation is ongoing.
